· Yahoo Sports

With the start of the regular-season looming, the Golden State Warriors are still without their veteran big man. At media day in late September, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. announced Kristaps Porzingis would be out indefinitely as he deals with a health issue. Following the first week of training camp and the start of the preseason, Porzingis remains out indefinitely, per Anthony Slater of ESPN.

Prior to Golden State's second preseason game on Tuesday evening at Chase Center, Steve Kerr provided an update on Porzingis' absence. Kerr admitted to not seeing Porzingis yet through training camp and the start of the preseason. Kerr said he thinks Porzingis will be back around the team with the Warriors back from Hawaii and in the Bay Area again.

Porzingis was acquired by the Warriors last season in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks that included Jonathan Kuminga. Since being traded to the Bay Area, Porzingis has played 15 games for the Warriors, averaging 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. Over the summer, Porzingis signed a two-year, $40 million contract extension to remain with the Warriors.

Without Porzingis, the Warriors will continue to lean on Draymond Green, Al Horford, Charles Bassey, Yaxel Lendeborg and Gui Santos.
