Chelsea are getting some good work done in the transfer market this summer, but they still need to get into gear in selling off some of the multitude of central defenders on their books.
Trevoh Chalobah is now gone – next up could be Benoit Badiashile. The defender has been strongly linked with loan moves to Serie A, and Fabrizio Romano today has an update on the interest in him.

Romano writes that Napoli – who have long been linked most strongly to the former Monaco man – are “expected to advance” for Badiashile, with an initial loan being discussed.
There is said to be another Premier League club trying to get in on the act – but the Frenchman prefers Naples as an option, perhaps understandably depending on which team wants him.
Badiashile was not on the preseason tour, and clearly the club want him gone as soon as possible. Now that the players and staff are back at Cobham, things are about to get a lot more awkward, so getting this deal done soon is a priority.
