On Thursday, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman provided a shocking report that Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has requested a trade.

Larkin is a top center in the NHL, and teams should be lining up to acquire his services. However, in his contract - which still has five years remaining with an $8.7-million salary cap hit - he has a full no-move clause for the next two seasons, according to puckpedia.com.

Nonetheless, with such a highly-touted player potentially up for grabs this off-season, here are four destinations that Larkin may consider to call his next NHL home.

Minnesota Wild

It’s clear that the Minnesota Wild lack a true No. 1 center in their lineup. But aside from that, they have everything else, including top defensemen Quinn Hughes and Brock Faber, along with wingers Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov and a defensive specialist in Joe Eriksson Ek.

Wild GM Bill Guerin has been bold before, acquiring Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks in December and making Kaprizov the highest-paid player in the NHL by signing him to a $ 17-million-per-year contract in September.

Though Larkin can pick his poison, seeing how good the Wild are as a team, his Team USA gold medal-winning teammates in Hughes, Faber and Boldy, and a clear opportunity for him to still be a top-line player, there seems to be a fit for him in the State of Hockey.

Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings are another team looking to bolster their lineup in terms of adding a top-line center. With Anze Kopitar officially retired, there is a big hole up front for the Kings, and it doesn’t seem like Quinton Byfield has reached that level to cover that up immediately.

Sure, the Kings aren’t the hottest topic in the NHL based on the passing campaign and being swept in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, but there’s something to be interested in there.

First, athletes across North America don’t seem to mind living in California’s sunshine. But also, Larkin can still be a difference-maker in that lineup, alongside talented wingers Artemi Panarin and Adrian Kempe.

Boston Bruins

If a trade eventually comes to fruition for Larkin, he’d be departing from his home state of Michigan. However, if being close to home and remaining in the Eastern Conference is important to him, the Boston Bruins aren’t all that far away.

Furthermore, the Bruins are another team in which Larkin could fit right in as a top center on the team. At the moment, Boston’s top two centers are Pavel Zacha and Elias Lindholm, so the addition of Larkin would automatically bolster the Bruins’ center depth.

Montreal Canadiens

Larkin is very much a player who can feed off energy and momentum, and that’s the name of the game for the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

But more than anything, with Larkin turning 30 this summer and hasn’t seen a single post-season since his rookie campaign in 2015-16, he knows time is running out.

The Canadiens have shown these playoffs that they are growing and can make noise when it matters most. Though they are still an incredibly young team, Larkin’s leadership would be a huge help for the Habs. Not to mention, between Larkin and Nick Suzuki, the team’s second-line center issues would be resolved.
