The latest SB Nation Reacts survey paints an increasingly bleak picture of fan sentiment surrounding the Indianapolis Colts, with just 19 percent of fans expressing confidence that the franchise is headed in the right direction. That’s another significant decline from last week’s 31 percent and a staggering 28-percentage-point drop from the 47 percent recorded just two weeks ago, shortly after the firing of general manager Chris Ballard.

Whatever optimism emerged following Ballard’s dismissal appears to have disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived. The Colts have lost four consecutive games, falling to 2-6 following Sunday’s humiliating 42-7 defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Indianapolis was thoroughly outplayed in virtually every aspect of the game, trailing 28-0 at halftime before suffering its most lopsided loss of the season. With the offense continuing to struggle under Daniel Jones and the defense showing little consistency, there has been very little on the field to suggest that a turnaround is approaching.

The organization’s recent roster overhaul has only added to the uncertainty. Indianapolis traded Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner last week, parting ways with two of its most accomplished veterans in exchange for future draft capital. While those decisions may ultimately benefit the franchise in the long run, they also signal that the Colts are increasingly focused on rebuilding rather than competing this season. With no first-round selection in the 2027 NFL Draft and several important roster questions still unanswered, fans understandably have concerns about how quickly the organization can return to contention.

The decline in confidence does not necessarily mean fans oppose the direction ownership has chosen, particularly given the frustration surrounding the previous regime. However, the results suggest that meaningful organizational changes alone have not been enough to restore faith in the franchise. Indianapolis still needs to demonstrate that it has a realistic plan for building a competitive roster, and the decisions made over the next several months could go a long way toward determining whether that confidence eventually returns.

Elsewhere in this week’s survey, fans were asked whether the Colts should trade star running back Jonathan Taylor ahead of the November 10 deadline, and the results were surprisingly decisive. An overwhelming 73 percent of respondents supported moving Taylor, despite the 27-year-old remaining one of the NFL’s premier running backs and arguably the most important player on Indianapolis’ offense.

The results reflect just how much the conversation surrounding the Colts has changed over the past several weeks. Taylor remains an elite offensive weapon and is under contract through 2028, but with Indianapolis potentially several years away from seriously competing again, there is a legitimate question about whether his remaining prime seasons align with the organization’s rebuilding timeline. Multiple contenders have reportedly expressed interest, and with the Colts believed to be seeking a first-round selection or a comparable package, moving Taylor could provide valuable draft capital for whoever takes over as general manager.

There is still a strong argument for keeping him, particularly with the Colts already lacking established offensive weapons and potentially facing another quarterback change in the coming years. Taylor has also maintained that he wants to win in Indianapolis and has not requested a trade, making his situation different from some of the other players reportedly seeking opportunities elsewhere.

Nevertheless, the survey results suggest that a substantial majority of participating Colts fans would support another major trade if it helps accelerate the franchise’s rebuilding process. Whether Indianapolis ultimately receives an offer compelling enough to move Taylor remains to be seen, but with the deadline rapidly approaching, the organization faces another decision that could significantly shape its future.
