Brendan Allen turned back another middleweight on the rise at UFC Fight Night 290 when he stopped the streak of Christian Leroy Duncan.

Allen (28-7 MMA, 16-4 UFC) pushed his own run of consecutive victories to four on Saturday at Meta APEX in Las Vegas with a fifth-round submission triumph over Duncan (15-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC), and now should be in position to get a forward-moving opportunity in the middleweight division.

What was a hectic opening round. Both took some incredible shots. Very close fight. #UFCVegas122

clubbing elbows from CLD. Allen had some success early with the takedown, but feels like CLD took it all away with that final minute or so. That's if they're scoring damage tonight.

10-9 Duncan in R1

Marc Goddard deducts a point from CLD after an eye poke early in R2. Allen had complained about fingers between rounds. Second point deduction in a fight tonight. #UFCVegas122

10-8 Allen with the point deduction #ufc

As I said in my breakdown, CLD’s propensity to clinch and exposure his back is killing his on success against Allen.

Good ole effective grappling there. #UFCVegas122
CLD all time low fight IQ. Like what are you doing. How are you ranked #10 and have zero fight awareness.

Lets go allen

I have it 29-27 Allen heading into the championship rounds

Duncan may need a finish
Brendan gave away the fourth.

2-2 when he had it in the bag until he took the 4th off
I have it 38-37 Allen heading into the final round

Unreal finish by Allen. What seemed like a desperate takedown attempt resulted in a RNC seemingly out of nowhere. Incredible. #UFCVegas122

What a finish by Brendan Allen at #UFCVegas122. The winningest UFC fighter of the 2020s with his 15th of the decade.

If they sort the Strickland situation out and get the Imavov fight booked, I'm betting Allen's the back up
