Bayern Munich took a while to get going, but once the floodgates opened, there was no stopping them as they got their first win of the Champions League season. Here are the standout performers.

Die Kaiserin: Glódis Perla Viggósdóttir

Bayern’s defense was not really troubled on the night. Some of that was due to Benfica’s lack of firepower, but it was also thanks to captain Glódis Perla Viggósdóttir, who organized her defense quite well, especially considering her partner Stine Ballisager seemed a bit shaky. Honorable mention goes to goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic, who also didn’t have much to do, but dealt well with what came her way.

Die Fußballgöttin: Bernadette Amani

Due to Lena Oberdorf’s injury, Arianna Caruso’s departure, and Sarah Zadrazil being slowly integrated back into game time, Bernadette Amani has seen significant playing time recently. Today, she was as solid as ever, throwing herself into challenges and standing up to Benfica’s rather physical approach. She did fade a bit in the later stages of the game, though, most likely due to fatigue.

Die Bomberin: Linda Dallmann

Despite the 3-0 scoreline, none of Bayern’s attackers really shone. Pernille Harder was named Player of the Match, but even she had a hard time before her goal late in the game. The pick of the crop was Linda Dallmann, who not only drove the ball forward, but also strung some passes together that could have resulted in better chances had her teammates moved a bit better. That said, even Dallmann was not outstanding; she just did her job better than the other attackers. She was also running tirelessly the entire game, although that may be thanks to her full week of rest – she remained on the bench in the DFB-Pokal win against Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend.

Meisterin of the Match: Klara Bühl

Klara Bühl did not have it easy in the first half, nor did she pick up the pace early in the second half. But with about 20 minutes to go, she let loose a fiery shot that glanced off the post and in. A goal that was trademark Bühl: showing exact precision and what she is capable of delivering. Thanks to that goal, Bayern were able to play with a bit more swagger, and added two more goals to the scoreline, with Bühl herself assisting the final goal of the night. With a goal and an assist in about a quarter of an hour, she made the best out of a difficult game, and once again proved that she is one of the best players in the world.
