Dylan Stewart, Jacarrius Peak on injury report for South Carolina vs Mississippi State

COLUMBIA — Star South Carolina football edge rusher Dylan Stewart and transfer left tackle Jacarrius Peak were listed as probable on the injury report posted Sept. 16.
It's the first injury report ahead of the SEC opener on Sept. 19 (4:15 p.m. ET, SEC Network) against Mississippi State.

Neither has played this season.
Stewart injured his back midway through last season. He spent the entire spring and summer resting to heal the injury. Right after joining the team from NC State, Peak hurt his knee playing basketball in a team event in February.
Coach Shane Beamer said Sept. 8 Peak and Stewart returned to full contact in full pads at practice.
Beamer brought up their status on Sept. 15.
"I'll save you a question. We have an injury report that we put out on Wednesday nights per SEC policy, so we'll have a report or an update on injuries (Sept. 16), so don't want you to waste your time asking," Beamer said.
In two years as starter, Stewart has 11 sacks, six forced fumbles and 36 solo tackles.
Peak was the second-ranked tackle in 247Sports' portal rankings after three years at NC State where he only allowed seven sacks across 2,202 snaps.
In Peak's place, freshman Darius Gray has started the first two games at left tackle. The defense has rotated between Anthony Addison, Caleb Herring, Julian Walker and Drew Collins in terms of its main edge rushers through two weeks.
