There are a lot of issues when it comes to the squad at Anfield. The midfield is probably the biggest.
Andoni Iraola's team have been very porous in the middle of the park and that has impacted the effectiveness of the Spaniard's style of play.
Iraola wants a fast pace and intense attacking team with the ability to reprise the ball quickly time and time again. The midfield plays a key role in this process.
But right now, they are not doing their job and that is impact the ability of the Reds to win games and be effective.
Something needs to change and in the coming months new addition may yet arrived at the club.

Right now it doesn't feel like the issues Liverpool have are purely coaching problems. There is a definite weakness in the midfield.
Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai don't really seem suited to playing the double pivot together.
They are both chaotic and don't necessarily hold their position very well. Nor are they effective at regaining the ball.
Alexis Mac Allister suits this system a lot better. But he is not on a long-term contract at the club and he is someone who could very well be moving on.
In his place, Liverpool have already identified Lamine Camara, who seems like the perfect profile considering he is smart on the ball and very good in winning possession for his team as well.

Liverpool are also working on bolstering their options for the future. Pedro Marques has done a brilliant job recently in recruiting some of the best young talents on the planet working alongside chief scout Barry Hunter and Matt Newberry, who is the Head of Global Talent.
We've seen Mor Talla Ndiaye being recruited from Senegal, Samuel Martinez arrive from Colombia and players like Ifeanyi Ndukwe signed from Austria.
Now, two young Gambian midfielders have also spent time at Liverpool recently. BST Galaxy's Musa Jatta and Sheriff Bah were on trial at Liverpool for two weeks.
