Patriots announce two new signings and releases from practice squad

The New England Patriots announced that they have added wide receiver Chandler Brayboy and outside linebacker Xavier Holmes to their practice squad on Monday, while releasing safety Elliott Davison and running back Hassan Haskins.

Brayboy joins the Patriots’ ranks as a rookie receiver with experience as a returner at East Carolina. He entered the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2025. Brayboy has not appeared in an NFL game to date, but he will get the opportunity to develop within New England’s ranks.

Holmes joins New England after playing defensive line at James Madison. He is pursuing playing in his first NFL game and gives the Patriots another young edge rusher capable of competing for snaps in the pass rush rotation.

Haskins departs from New England having played three seasons in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans (2022) and Los Angeles Chargers (2024-25). The Michigan product has amassed 76 carries for 229 yards and one touchdown, as well as 18 receptions for 119 yards.

Davison, a second-year defensive back from UTSA, also exits the practice squad. He has yet to play a game in the NFL.
