The Tennessee Titans opened the season with an embarrassing 23-10 loss to the New York Jets to kick off their 2026 regular season.

The Titans couldn't get anything going and were completely dominated in every phase of the game. Yes, they are a young team and there are a lot of moving parts within the complete overhaul being undertaken this season, but the overall performance game more questions than answers.
Here are three things we learned from the disappointing loss to the Jets.
Where’s the identity?
All offseason, Robert Saleh talked about his team playing fast and violent, but against the Jets, that mantra was nowhere to be found in any phase of the game. The Jets played fast and violent, while the Titans struggled to find consistency in any area.
Moving forward, the Titans must find out who they are on both sides of the ball, and they have very little time to do it.
Anthony Hill Jr. is ready to roll
After an impressive training camp and preseason, Hill earned the start and did not disappoint. The rookie second-round pick out of Texas started in his debut and led the team in tackles. On top of that, he made some plays against the pass.
It will be interesting to see how things play out once Cedric Gray returns from concussion protocol. The combination of Gray and Hill can make a difference for this defense.
Time to move on from Ridley
Calvin Ridley returned to the Titans on a restructured contract in 2026, but has been virtually invisible in preseason and now the regular season. Ridley finished with zero receptions on zero targets and has been completely outplayed by Elic Ayomanor.
With the offense struggling, Tennessee needs consistent playmakers, and so far in 2026, that hasn't been Ridley.
