Milner has consistently expressed his desire to transition into coaching, having already secured his UEFA A License and is now working toward completing his Pro License.
He previously worked with the Academy during his eight-year stint at Liverpool and delivered a team talk to the young Reds squad led by Under-23s manager Neil Critchley that produced a memorable FA Cup triumph over Shrewsbury Town in February 2020 after then first-team manager Jürgen Klopp withdrew himself and the senior squad from the fixture.
Milner was also brought in to participate in coaching sessions under Brighton and Hove Albion manager Fabian Hürzeler during his spell at the Seagulls last season.
