Stockton started the game with two touchdowns in the first quarter alone. One of which was to tight end Ethan Barbour for seven yards, and another was to running back Chauncey Bowens for a 21-yard score, to put them up 21 to 0 at the end of the first quarter.
But that wasn't all. Stockton threw three more touchdown passes to wide receiver Talyn Taylor, Savoci White-Helton, which was a 70-yarder, and London Humphreys. Stockton concluded the game, going 13/16 for 234 yards and five touchdowns.
So far through two games, Stockton has thrown for 436 yards and eight touchdowns with zero interceptions. The way he's been performing on the field could lead to even more of a Heisman campaign that he's putting together.
"I was proud of the guys," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said after he game. "Started fast, and gotta keep improving. That was the theme of the week.
"I did think that we got to improve in a lot of areas, and then we had some guys finish the game kind of sloppy that showed they weren’t quite ready. But the fact they got an opportunity to go out there. I think we played more people in the second half than we’ve ever played before."
Georgia will face Arkansas next on Saturday, September 19th.
