A legendary HBCU rivalry resumes Saturday as North Carolina A&T visits NC Central for the 98th edition of the Aggie-Eagle Classic.
While this matchup has plenty of history, recent years have not been kind to the Aggies. The Eagles have won four in a row, including ugly blowouts each of the last two meetings, which NCCU won 62-20 last year and 66-24 in 2024.
A&T is winless through two games and ended up using three quarterbacks in last week's 59-10 loss at Georgia State after starter Braxton Thomas left with an injury. Junior Kevin White looks to be the next man up Saturday.
NCCU has fared better to date, following up a season-opening loss at Texas Southern with an emphatic win over Elizabeth City State last weekend. The player to watch for the Eagles is wideout Chance Peterson, who had five receptions for 109 yards and a TD last week.
This series tends to be streaky; before the Eagles' current four-game streak, A&T won the previous four editions, so maybe it's the Aggies' time again.
