Pereira (13-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC) was finished by Gane in their interim heavyweight title fight at UFC Freedom 250 in June. Gane dropped Pereira with a jab then swarmed him for the second-round TKO. "Poatan" complained that several shots from Gane landed to the back of his head in the fight-ending sequence, and he's eager to run things back.
Hokit (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC), who scored two big wins over Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis in the span of two months, believes Pereira has no business rematching Gane (14-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) – or even asking for it.
"As a fan, that fight makes no f*cking sense," Hokit wrote on X. "I watched you get demolished. How about a more favorable match up like Sergei who is basically a striker & way less athletic than Ciryl. How about you get one f*cking win in this weight class before you are gifted another title shot."

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall (15-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) is yet to be booked for his next fight. His manager, Eddie Hearn, is hopeful for a 2026 return, and Gane is expecting this rematch after their initial fight ended in a no contest at UFC 321. Aspinall underwent numerous eye surgeries after getting inadvertently poked in the eyes by Gane, but Hokit thinks the Brit has been cleared to compete for a while.
"Eddie Hearn’s strategy with Aspinall is obvious: stall with “he’ll fight when cleared” to buy time in contract negotiations.
Back in June, Tom said he’d fight Gane Sept 6th. Now Eddie is talking out of his ass: "He’s training, he’s ready, he’s eager to come back."
You mean he didn't get medical clearance before starting full training months ago?? Total BS
2/2 Nobody wants to see Alex get beat by Gane again. If @ufc books me vs Alex, Eddie holds the UFC by the balls and drags negotiations out forever because I’m the ONLY viable fight left for Gane that brings real eyes. I’m 10-0 (I've won all my fights at HW unlike low IQ, portugues, indian guy) and I put on a show. Ciryl and I need to find out who the best athlete in the UFC is. I’m the only man who can make him pay for being a dirty POS & I won't need a year off or blame a ref. 💥👑 Incredible Hok vs. Ciryl Gane 👑💥 💥 Sergei Pavlovich vs. Alex Pereira💥 Let’s have a f*cking party at MSG! 💣🥊💥
