Jared Goff Fantasy Prediction 2026:

Jared Goff enters the 2026 fantasy football season offering one of the most elevated floors at the quarterback position. Since 2022, he ranks third in passer rating and stands alone as the only quarterback to eclipse 17,000 passing yards over that stretch: he’s at 18,206.

Should You Draft Jared Goff in Fantasy Football?

As of early September, in PFN’s Free Fantasy Mock Draft Simulator, Goff is going off the board with an ADP of 121.6. That has him about in that 13th-round range. That’s pretty close to where the PFN fantasy experts Kyle Soppe and Jason Katz have him going as their 130th-ranked overall player on their fantasy football rankings. That comes out to QB16, with a per-game range of 15.51 points per game.

With Goff, you’re not necessarily going to have that rushing upside. He’s very much a stationary pocket passer. But the good thing is you’re going to get your passing yards. Goff has had over 4,400 passing yards in each of the last four years. He’s surpassed 30 passing touchdowns each of the last three years. In each of his last four seasons, all in Detroit, he’s finished as a top-10 quarterback in fantasy football scoring.

Yes, there isn’t that elite rushing upside, but I think there’s a tremendous group of weapons that he has to work with, and an offensive line that in my opinion got a little bit better. It took a step back last year compared to years past. When you’re losing the likes of Frank Ragnow and Kevin Zeitler, that’s going to have an impact, but Blake Miller’s in the mix now, and Cade Mays, whenever he comes back, I think will be an upgrade at center there.

Goff has tremendous weapons to work with. He’s been very productive, and I think having an offensive coordinator who showed in Arizona last year that he’s not afraid to throw the ball and let his quarterback sling it only helps. Goff is definitely a better quarterback than Jacoby Brissett, and Brissett still put up some solid numbers.

Goff I absolutely love as a high-floor backup, especially if you’re taking a quarterback who’s maybe a little bit riskier, someone like Jayden Daniels coming off an injury, or someone like Caleb Williams where you don’t necessarily know what he’s going to be this year from a fantasy standpoint. If you can get Goff as your backup, that is the ultimate security blanket for your fantasy team this year.

Goff is somebody I think has the chance to absolutely outperform his current ADP. I feel like he does every year. Goff at 121.6, that current ADP, I’m absolutely taking him. He’s one of my top choices this year for a backup quarterback, and I wouldn’t be surprised if, after I inevitably take him, he ends up starting a good handful of games for me this year. Big yes for me.

This is certainly on the list of games that could lead the Week 1 slate in points, and that locks Goff into QB1 status, even without any semblance of mobility.

As a Lion, Goff’s Splits

Over/Under is 46+ points: 17.9 PPG

Over/Under is sub-46 points: 13.4 PPG

The Saints allowed the second-lowest pass TD rate in 2024, a ranking that crashed to 20th a season ago. I don’t see much of a path for this defense to rank much better this year, and given the additions on the other side of the ball, this is a shootout team hiding in plain sight.

Goff cracks my top-10 at the position this week, one of two pocket passers to do so (Joe Burrow vs. TB), and a spot that checks in well ahead of where I have him ranked for the season as a whole.
