Just a few more hours until kickoff. Here to help pass the time until the game thread opens at 7 ET are the results of this past week’s surveys. Quick reminder that these surveys will appear in The Feed early in the week as well as in their own article, so you should have every opportunity to see it and participate. This past week, as will be the case ahead of each game this season, I asked you all to predict the result of the game. Just enough to be considered a majority voted that MSU will beat Toledo by 8-14 points, while another 1/3 of voters said it would be at least a 15-point Spartan victory. We also had 3% of the vote show up from other SB Nation sites.
We also ran a second survey in the Feed this week. We wanted to run the vote again on predicting MSU’s win total for 2026. We initially ran this vote before we began our football preview series; 6-7 wins was the most popular selection then with 46%.
In the revote, 6 wins was the most popular selection at 35%. Including the 7-win votes, that gives us 47%. Also, we can see that 47% of the votes said we would end up with 5 or less and miss out on a bowl once again, roughly the same as in the initial vote. All this to say that our preview articles did not do much to change anyone’s mind on the upcoming season.
This survey was sponsored by the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook where our MSU Spartans are 10.5-point favorites in the season opener against Toledo.
