The NBA has found Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers guilty of salary cap circumvention following a long investigation.

As a result, the NBA has slammed the LA Clippers with a fine of $30 million, along with taking away their five first-round draft picks.
Additionally, Kawhi Leonard has been fined $700k for his role in the massive scandal, but the 2x NBA Finals MVP’s contract hasn’t been voided.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Leonard has claimed that he had no clue about the Clippers circumventing the salary cap with his endorsement deals with Aspiration and Daktronics.
“The investigation, I do have to make it clear, did show that Kawhi Leonard did not have any knowledge of this salary cap circumvention that was going on,” Charania said.
However, investigative journalist Pablo Torre, who was the first to report this scandal, shared one image that proves Leonard’s claims through Charania completely wrong.
The image features Leonard signing a consent form, thus agreeing to an agreement with Aspiration for an endorsement deal. The signature dates back to 2022, which is a clear indication that the Klaw was aware of the terms of the deal.
Most NBA fans on X were thankful to Torre for bringing this to light, as it quickly exposed a potential lie told by Leonard and his representatives through Charania.
