Jalen Brunson undeniably had the best campaign of his career with the New York Knicks during the 2025-26 season.
After all, Brunson spearheaded the Knicks’ NBA Championship run and ended the franchise’s 53-year title drought following a 4-1 finals win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Since then, Brunson has become a hero for the people of New York City. However, Brunson has already been handed a new challenge for the upcoming NBA season.

Brunson has essentially established himself as a Knicks legend regardless of whether he wins another NBA title with the team or not.
But there are still other goals that Brunson can strive to achieve. According to former NBA player-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins, one of the goals is to help OG Anunoby become an All-Star.
“I got some advice, you know what you could do? At the start of training camp, well beyond training camp, you go up to OG, and you tell OG, ‘Hey bro, real talk, this year I’m gonna make you a m____________ All-Star.
“You are going to be in the All-Star Game this year, I’m going to make sure of that,” Perkins said on The Road Trippin’ podcast.
Last season, Anunoby was integral to the Knicks’ success as he averaged 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game for the Knicks.
Anunoby took things up a notch come playoff time by putting up 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He also had an iconic tip-in during Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
Keeping those facts in mind, Anunoby has already become a fan favorite; he only needs slightly better numbers to get the first-ever NBA All-Star selection of his career, and Brunson can certainly help him receive that honor.
