Report: Cavaliers a part of 4-team, multi-player trade

CLEVELAND (WKBN) - ESPN'S Shams Charania is reporting that the Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Washington Wizards have agreed to a four-team, multi-player trade.

According to the report, Cleveland receives forward Peyton Watson from Denver as well as Cam Whitmore from Washington.

According to the report, the 23-year-old Watson will sign a new 4-year, $88 million deal plus a player option and a trade kicker.

Also in the trade, Max Strus heads to the Clippers, while the Nuggets receive an unprotected 2031 first-round pick from Cleveland as well as a 2032 second-round pick.

Washington receives Tre Mann from Cleveland. He was recently acquired by the Cavaliers from Charlotte last week.

Last season, Watson averaged 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game for the Nuggets.

In four NBA seasons, Watson owns a career average of 8.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game with Denver.

He was originally selected by Oklahoma City in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft but was dealt to Denver on draft night.

Last season for Cleveland, Strus averaged 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. He also shot 40% from beyond the 3-point line.
