There was a bizarre moment during Saturday night’s middle game between the Braves and the Orioles. Eli White was pinch-hitting for Mike Yastrzemski in the seventh inning and hit one down the line for what was presumably going to be a double for the outfielder.

Well, it did end up being a double but White stumbled while turning towards second and eventually fell down halfway towards the bag. Fortunately, the throw from Dylan Beavers in right field wasn’t fielded cleanly and White was able to make it into second base with a double after all.

Still, the Braves training staff checked on White and while he did stay in the game, he eventually gave way to Brewer Hicklen once it was his turn to bat.

We’ll have more on the situation as it develops but I suppose you can just chalk this up as yet another bizarre injury moment for the Braves in recent years. Hopefully Eli White is okay going forward.
