PSG officially out of Diomande race
· Yahoo Sports
Paris Saint-Germain have halted their pursuit of Yan Diomande. They were in pole position to sign the player before Real Madrid entered the race. Everything changed from the player’s perspective from there on, and the Ligue 1 and European Champions have officially announced on Sunday, with a statement given to Sky Sports Germany, that they are no longer participating in the race to sign the 19-year-old forward.

“PSG has this evening officially withdrawn its interest and its bids for Yan Diomande. The asking transfer fee and salary demands were completely disproportionate and distortive – and PSG will not break its principles of rational financial management and squad balance,” the PSG statement read.
“As a two-time consecutive Champions League winner and the most successful club in recent years, PSG will also not engage in the inflationary and manipulative games of certain player agents – and will instead calmly and confidently continue its transfer planning.”
Other European clubs such as Liverpool were also interested, but Real Madrid expected to close the deal soon.
