· Yahoo Sports

The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.

Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.

Here is outside linebacker Eku Leota.

Eku Leota background, 2025 season

Leota enters his fourth NFL season and second with the Cardinals. He entered the league in 2023 as a rookie free agent out of Auburn, signing originally with the Carolina Panthers. He has spent time with the Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints and Cardinals, appearing in 14 games in his career with one start, logging 10 total tackles and a sack.

After he was cut by the Saints last season, he signed with the Cardinals' practice squad in December and finished the season with them. He re-signed after the season's conclusion.

Eku Leota contract details, salary cap hit

He is signed for 2026 and will make a little more than $1.1 million. That will also be his cap hit.

Roster outlook, questions he faces

He is probably a long shot to make the roster, but with an outside linebacker room that has not proven much outside of Josh Sweat, he does have a shot. What is more likely is another stint on the practice squad.
