· Yahoo Sports
Bryson DeChambeau is one result away from having a major championship season to remember for all the wrong reasons.
DeChambeau has already missed the cut at The Masters, the PGA Championship, and the US Open in 2026.

If he misses the cut at this week’s Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, that would be his fourth consecutive failure.
Given that DeChambeau is a two-time major winner and former world number four, this would be absolutely shocking.
He is under even more pressure to play well at The Open after receiving criticism from Sir Nick Faldo and Brandel Chamblee.
Here are all of DeChambeau’s major finishes since joining LIV Golf to assess whether that decision is to blame for his regression.
Bryson DeChambeau’s record in every major since joining LIV Golf
Bryson DeChambeau joined LIV Golf in June 2022 after having a successful career on the PGA Tour, winning eight times.
DeChambeau’s next major appearance was at the 2022 US Open at Brookline, where he finished tied for 56th place.

2023 was another underwhelming season, with a T4 finish at the PGA Championship but no other top-10s at the other three majors.
2024 was probably the best season of DeChambeau’s career, as he beat Rory McIlroy to win his second US Open.
He also contended at The Masters and finished second at the PGA Championship, returning to the top 10 in the OWGR.
DeChambeau did not win a major in 2025, but he continued to play great golf, with top-10 finishes at every major except the US Open.
Those results make his struggles in 2026 even more surprising, and he has shown no signs of turning things around.
Many have tipped him to miss the cut again at The Open after watching him make several mistakes in practice rounds.
However, when you look at DeChambeau’s resume since joining LIV Golf, it would be ridiculous to say the move has not worked.
Nick Faldo and Brandel Chamblee explain their Bryson DeChambeau concerns
Former professional golfers Sir Nick Faldo and Brandel Chamblee have both criticised Bryson DeChambeau ahead of The Open.
“I’d say it to his face – DeChambeau has zero clue of strategy,” Faldo said, suggesting that DeChambeau will struggle at Royal Birkdale.
“He said last year: ‘I’m going to go out and attack the links’. Well, I’ve never attacked a links [course]. You thread it, don’t you? You feed it down the fairway.”
Meanwhile, Chamblee believes that DeChambeau is too focused on creating YouTube content rather than winning majors.
“Probably one of the biggest surprises of the year is Bryson DeChambeau. It’s almost like he went from chasing Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy to chasing Grant Horvat,” Chamblee said.
Even though he has won two majors, it appears that DeChambeau has a lot to prove at Royal Birkdale.
