Ranking the top 10 relief pitchers in MLB entering July

MLB heads into the 16th week of the 2026 season. The 2026 All-Star Game takes place in one week, and the All-Star teams, from each respective league, have been announced. The pool of players was arguably as good as it’s been in a long time. Many deserving players earned nods while certain players were snubbed. Here are the Week 16 top ten relief pitchers in the league.

10. Paul Sewald, Arizona Diamondbacks

The veteran is having a strong season in the desert. Entering the week, he ranks fifth in saves among MLB relief pitchers. He was left off the NL All-Star roster.

9. Trevor Megill, Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Trevor Megill (29) threw a scoreless inning against the Royals on Sunday, March 1 in Cactus League action.

Megill is having a great season with Milwaukee. Entering the week, he ranks ninth in saves among MLB relief pitchers. He has a WHIP below 1.00.

8. Dylan Lee, Atlanta Braves

Lee has been one of MLB’s best setup arms. He enters the week with an ERA below 1.60 and WHIP below 0.75. His numbers have been good enough to warrant an NL All-Star selection.

7. Tanner Scott, Los Angeles Dodgers

Scott has been solid in his save chances. Unfortunately, his team’s offense scores too many runs for him to see more opportunities for saves. He enters the week with a WHIP below 0.90.

6. Bryan Baker, Tampa Bay Rays

The veteran has been excellent for Tampa Bay this season. Entering the week, he ranks second in saves among MLB relief pitchers. He has earned a roster spot on the AL All-Star team.

5. Josh Hader, Houston Astros

The veteran hasn’t skipped a beat since missing a majority of the 2026 season. Entering the week, he has an ERA and WHIP below 0.70. He is perfect in his save chances.

4. Jacob Latz, Texas Rangers

Latz has been phenomenal closing out games for the Rangers. Entering the week, he ranks tied for sixth in saves. He will represent the American League in the All-Star Game.

3. Jhoan Duran, Philadelphia Phillies

Duran has been excellent as Philadelphia’s closer. Entering the week, he is fourth in saves among MLB relief pitchers. He will be a member of the bullpen for the NL All-Star team.

2. Louis Varland, Toronto Blue Jays

Enough can’t be said about Varland’s strong season. Entering the week, he is perfect in save chances and has an ERA and WHIP below 1.00. He has earned a spot on the AL All-Star roster.

1. Mason Miller, San Diego Padres

Miller is again the top MLB relief pitcher. He enters the week tied for third in saves among MLB relief pitchers. He has earned a spot on the NL All-Star roster with an ERA and WHIP below 1.00.
