In 2025, third-round rookie Harold Fannin Jr. had a season for the ages in his first NFL campaign after leaving BGSU.

The Browns have gone back to the well.

According to On SI, the Browns are bringing Bowling Green tight end Jyrin Johnson to rookie minicamp.

The Browns lost David Njoku in free agency, and while Johnson won't be in a leading position to make the team, he can start making his case.

Johnson is originally from Louisiana, and he played the majority of his college career at Texas Southern.

The 6-foot-4 TE came to BGSU for his final season and had 37 catches for 466 yards and two touchdowns.

Johnson finished his college career with the top active receptions streak in the nation at 45 games in a row with at least one catch.

He was named All-MAC first team at tight end.

The Browns drafted two tight ends, Joe Royer from Cincinnati and Carsen Ryan from BYU.

Their tight end room also includes the likes of Blake Whiteheart, Sal Cannella, Jack Stoll and Brenden Bates.

The reality is that behind Fannin, this is a wide open competition between a lot of players. Johnson has some work to do, but it wouldn't be impossible for him to make a push for the roster.
