No. 8 Tennessee (40-8, 14-7 SEC) defeated No. 3 Alabama (44-6, 16-5 SEC), 4-1, Monday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

With Monday's win, the Lady Vols clinched the series against Alabama. It was the Crimson Tide's first SEC series loss.
Tennessee led, 3-0, in the fourth inning after scoring three runs. Emma Clarke hit a RBI double, making the score, 1-0. Taelyn Holley singled later in the fourth inning. The Crimson Tide committed an error on the play, allowing Clarke to score. Alannah Leach also recorded a RBI on a sacrifice fly.
The Lady Vols extended their advantage to, 4-0, on a RBI single by Holley.
Alabama's Mari Hubbard hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.
Clarke went 2-for-5 in the game for Tennessee. She hit one double, scored one run and recorded one RBI, while Holley went 2-for-3. She recorded one RBI and scored one run.
Karlyn Pickens (12-5) pitched five innings in relief for the Lady Vols. She allowed one run and three hits. Pickens recorded 11 strikeouts, while totaling 71 pitches, including 51 strikes.
Erin Nuwer started for the Lady Vols and pitched two innings. She allowed one hit and two walks, while totaling 33 pitches, including 19 strikes.
