Iowa basketball linked to Washington State transfer portal guard
· Yahoo Sports
The transfer portal is the biggest reason why Iowa basketball got back to the Elite Eight last season.
New head coach Ben McCollum utilized it well, bringing in highly-skilled additions like Bennett Stirtz, Alvaro Folguerias, and Tavion Banks to the program. All three of those guys, along with other transfers, helped the Hawkeyes soar to new heights in March. Now that those three players have departed Iowa City, it's time for McCollum to reload.

He's going right back to the transfer portal to do just that.
According to numerous reports, the Hawkeyes are in the mix for a horde of talented players in the portal. Chief among that group is a talented guard with three years of eligibility remaining: Washington State transfer guard Ace Glass.

Glass burst onto the scene as a freshman with the Cougars last season, averaging 16.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard shot 45.5% from the field and 36.4% from behind the arc. He hails from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and is considered a four-star talent in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.
There are a lot of traits to like about Glass and his potential fit in McCollum's system. He's a dynamic scorer with the ability to take over games on the offensive end. He's not afraid of the big moments, as shown by his 40-point showing against Arizona State in the Maui Invitational. And he's got some defensive upside that can be coached up by McCollum.
The Hawkeyes are going to need to add some high-upside players who can help the team win now and in the future. Glass checks off both of those boxes. He would be another massive win in the portal for this program.
