Arteta Reveals Madueke’s Secret To Success After Arsenal’s Hull Victory

Noni Madueke was one of Arsenal’s standout performers in yesterday’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hull City, and Mikel Arteta has revealed the extraordinary dedication behind the winger’s recent transformation.

With Bukayo Saka sidelined through injury, Madueke has stepped up when Arsenal have needed him most, and his determination to improve has clearly impressed his manager.

Madueke Sacrificed His Holiday To Improve

Speaking to Sky Sports, Arteta revealed how Madueke responded to his lack of playing time earlier in the season.

“The way he reacted to that I think is a great example for the rest of the squad, which is, ‘I want to do more.’ He went away, started to train and was a different Noni. He wasn’t going to accept that situation, he meant business. Since then he has been incredible.”

Rather than enjoying a holiday during the international break, Madueke travelled to Portugal to work on his fitness with a trainer.

That decision appears to have paid off handsomely, with the 24-year-old becoming an increasingly influential figure in Arteta’s side.

Madueke Delivers When Arsenal Need Him Most

Madueke was instrumental in breaking Hull’s resistance yesterday, with his powerful effort forcing goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis into a save that fell perfectly for Martin Ødegaard to score the winner in the 72nd minute.

It was another important contribution from the winger, who also found the net during Arsenal’s midweek Champions League victory over Slavia Prague.

Although Madueke missed opportunities to score himself against Hull, his willingness to take on defenders and create chances was evident throughout the afternoon.

Arteta clearly believes there is still more to come from the winger, but his commitment and growing confidence are already making a difference.

With Arsenal continuing their push for the Premier League title, having another attacking player capable of making decisive contributions could prove invaluable.
