The Tigers came out of the bye week without experiencing movement in the latest SP+ leaderboard. SP+ is a statistic from ESPN that predicts future performance. It is a tempo- and opponent-adjusted measure of efficiency. They rank No. 4 in the country with a 24.7 rating, over a full point drop from last week.
LSU's next three opponents are not far behind. The Crimson Tide ranks No. 8 with a 20.6 rating. They follow Texas, the purple and gold's Week 11 opponent, which is No. 7 with a 22.1 rating. In Week 12, the Tigers travel to Tennessee, No. 11 with a 17.6 rating.
SP+ gives a realistic measure of a team's strength against quality opponents. Picking up a few ranked wins over the next month will significantly increase LSU's chances of earning a berth in the 12-team field.
