Former Celtic utility man Vidar Riseth has revealed the formula he fully believes would get the best out of under pressure hoops striker Kasper Hogh who is currently going through a rough patch in front of goal.
“When he played for Bodo, they played a different style that worked for him,” Vidar Riseth
Riseth who made 73 appearances and scored five goals for the hoops between 1998-2000 believes that Hogh’s physical presence can be used to create opportunities for his teammates. Riseth said: “Hogh is a big, strong target man. When he played for Bodo, they played a different style that worked for him,”the former Norwegian international told Scottish Sun.

“I think he’d like to get more crosses, as he did at Bodo, because he’s such a big lad with a good finish.
“Now they’re playing more up to him and asking to get the ball back again, so it’s different for him, but the most important thing for Martin is Celtic winning games.”

The best way to maximise Hogh’s impact
Riseth believes that if Kasper Hogh is used to create space for other players, this would be the best way to maximise his impact, something that’s been evident to those who have studied Hogh closely since his record breaking £11 move in the summer window.
During his time at Bodo/Glimt, Hogh demonstrated his quality on the European stage by scoring in Champions league victories over Manchester City and Atletico Madrid proving his prowess in front of goal.

But Riseth insists that Hogh is more than just a goalscorer, and his mere presence in and around the box adds to the side as it allows several opportunities for his teammates.
Riseth added: “Sometimes at Bodo he didn’t score the goals, but there’s always one or two defenders on him all the time. That gives space to the midfield and to other players to come through and score the goals.
“If he works hard and does a good job, it doesn’t matter who scores.”

Kasper Hogh left out of Denmark squad for upcoming matches
Yesterday Kasper Hogh discovered that he has bee omitted from the Denmark squad for the upcoming international fixtures, as his Celtic woes start to have a wider impact. Danish boss Brian Riemer named is squad for Denmark’s crunch matches against Portugal and Norway but there was no place for the Celtic striker.
Denmark take on Portugal in Braga on 14th November , then Norway at the Parken Stadium on 17th November.

Hogh suffering from muddled thinking from Celtic’s management team
Hogh has now gone 14 matches without scoring for Celtic, going back to his hat-trick at Kilmarnock in August. It’s fair to say that the muddled thinking in the Celtic dugout has contributed to Hogh’s goal scoring woes.
Last midweek against Dundee United for instance, he started but with two other centre-forwards playing as wingers. That didn’t work and the Danish striker was substituted at the break with two wingers – Hassan and Jota – coming on.
