Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur made it official on Wednesday: edge rusher Micah Parsons will return to practice, opening his 21-day practice window and marking the first time Parsons has participated in an official football activity since tearing his ACL and meniscus on Dec. 14 of last year.

LaFleur said Parsons will be limited to individual drills during Wednesday's practice. The plan is to ramp him up over the next 21 days, but LaFleur says Parsons has been cleared to be "full go" at this point in the process.

"We'll take it one day at a time and hopefully he'll be ready to go sooner rather than later," LaFleur said.

Parsons produced 12.5 sacks and led the NFL in pressures when he went down with the season-ending injury last season. The Packers lost their final five games of the 2025 season and have started 5-3 without Parsons in 2026.

LaFleur said Parsons is a "generational talent" and "dominant force" who will provide a "big boost" for the Packers at the midway point of the 2026 season.

"It's been a long road, but he's put in the work," LaFleur said.

The most likely outcome is Parsons gets a chance to advance during practice over the next two weeks and then makes his 2026 debut against the Los Angeles Rams on Thanksgiving Eve in Week 12.
