The Green Bay Packers have opened up as 2.5-point road underdogs on FanDuel against the New England Patriots in Week 9, coming off a mini-bye after beating the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football. The Patriots had a little scare against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, but were able to outscore Miami 21-6 in the second half to win 24-19.

Overall, quarterback Drake Maye seems to have caught his groove after starting slowly to begin the 2026 season. Over the last four games, he’s posted MVP-type numbers, combining to throw 11 touchdowns to just one interception and crossing the 110 passer rating mark in each of those games.

The Packers are also coming in relatively hot, mostly off the backs of their defense and offensive passing game, and have won four of their last five games after being embarrassed at home for Thursday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons.

Both teams are fighting for something on Sunday, as the Patriots’ chances of winning the AFC East drop from 31 percent to just 21 percent if the Packers beat them, according to The Athletic’s playoff simulator. Green Bay’s path to the playoffs mostly involves a wild card spot at this point, as the team is being given just a seven percent chance of winning the division per the same simulator. According to The Athletic, the Packers have a 61 percent chance to make the playoffs if they beat the Patriots, but just a 39 percent chance if they lose.

If Green Bay can split their trip to New England and their Week 10 game against the Minnesota Vikings, who are sitting in the driver’s seat in the NFC North at the moment, they have about a 50-50 chance of making the playoffs going into their Week 11 bye week. After that, they should be getting some players back from injury lists, notably edge rusher Micah Parsons.
