Atlanta Braves Get Two Gold Glove Winners on Sunday
· Yahoo Sports
The Atlanta Braves' 2026 season ended earlier than they hoped, with a National League Division Series loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. With World Series aspirations, the Braves got past the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL Wild Card round, but were overmatched by a Dodgers team that went all-in at the trade deadline in a way the Braves just didn't.
Their 94 wins and NL East title still made for a successful regular season, and two of the players who helped carry the defense received individual honors on Sunday night for their play on that side.

First baseman Matt Olson and utility player Mauricio Dubón were named Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners in the National League. Olson won at first base for the second straight season, while Dubón earned the utility award in his first year with the Braves.
For Olson, this is his fourth Gold Glove. He won twice with the Oakland Athletics in 2018 and 2019 before earning his first NL award with Atlanta in 2025. No other Braves first baseman besides Freddie Freeman had won one before Olson earned the honors last season.
Olson led all first basemen with 12 Outs Above Average and a Fielding Run Value of 12, while his 11 Defensive Runs Saved ranked second at the position, according to MLB.com. He also played all 162 games, continuing his iron man streak, and hit 41 home runs.
Dubón's season was different, as Atlanta acquired him from the Houston Astros for infielder Nick Allen last November to play a role at shortstop and across the field.
Flexibility became a big part of Dubón's first season in Atlanta. He did play shortstop, but also left field, second base, third base and center field.
The award is Dubón's third overall and his first in the National League. While he won Gold Glove, he was more than a defensive weapon for Atlanta, batting .276 with 12 home runs and 73 RBIs during the regular season. His ability to cover multiple positions gave the Braves flexibility while keeping his bat in the lineup.
Olson and Dubón were two of four Braves named Gold Glove finalists, along with pitcher Chris Sale and center fielder Michael Harris II.
Dubón's future is one of many offseason questions. He is a free agent, and MLB.com's Mark Bowman reported that he has expressed interest in returning to Atlanta. That said, other clubs could possibly offer him a larger role or more money.
