The ongoing feud between Luka Doncic and rookie Yaxel Lendeborg has increasingly resembled a dramatic rivalry. On Friday, Lendeborg had the last laugh as the Golden State Warriors secured a 112-95 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the rookie struggled to make an impact against Doncic’s outstanding performance, which quickly made him a target of criticism and trolling from Lakers fans.

Lendeborg made a statement before the game by arriving at the arena dressed in a Michael Myers costume. Such a bold entrance naturally raised expectations for his performance on the court. However, Doncic stole the spotlight with his dominant display, leaving the Warriors rookie facing plenty of online mockery.
“Yaxel Lendeborg did all that to show up and drop 6 points,” one fan mocked.

“Yaxel 6’9 for nothing dude plays trash against the Lakers but good against everybody else,” a fan remarked.
“Yaxel Lendeborg is currently a -22 while his team is winning by 12 points and Luka Doncic is a +11 while being down 12 points,” one user added.
“NBA hypes up the Luka and Yaxel Lendeborg beef only for Yaxel to have zero shot attempts all game,” another comment read.
The Lakers superstar finished with 37 points, seven rebounds and five assists in 37 minutes. He shot 12-of-27 from the field, including 6-of-16 from beyond the arc, and converted seven of his eight free-throw attempts. Doncic also recorded one steal and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Lendeborg finished with six points and one rebound in 24 minutes for the Warriors. However, he did not record an assist and finished with five turnovers and six personal fouls.
Despite Lendeborg’s modest contribution, the Warriors managed to come away with the victory behind another impressive performance from Stephen Curry. Golden State found itself trailing Los Angeles by as many as 25 points early in the second quarter, but the team gradually turned things around and eventually secured a 17-point win.
The loss dropped the Lakers to a 4-2 record for the season, while Golden State improved to 3-3.
