DeVries was a star basketball player at Calvin University and was recently associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Knights the past four years.
"He is a graduate of Calvin University and comes to us with a wealth of experience in coaching and managing teams and athletes, athletic operations including logistical planning of camps and tournaments, athlete development, and has served as the director of youth and team camps," Fennville Public Schools said in a statement.
DeVries currently lives in Hudsonville with his wife, Saydee (Johns), the former Holland and Hope College star tennis player.
They are excited about the opportunity to move to the area and develop roots.
"I'm excited to join Fennville Athletics and the Fennville Community as a whole," DeVries said. "Throughout this interview process it's been fun to meet students, staff, coaches and community members and see the passion everyone has for Fennville. I'm excited to be a part of the team that continues to grow Fennville athletics and recreational programming."
