Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has shared a positive update on his wife Mia, three months after she was shot in their family home.
When speaking to reporters on Thursday, Bieniemy said that Mia was doing well enough to go on a trip with friends this past weekend.

"She's doing great. She actually went on a trip this weekend," Bieniemy said. "She was a rockstar, obviously.
"Her rehab has been going great. She actually had an opportunity to come out here and hang out and I'm sure I got on her nerves," he joked.
Mia, 57, was shot in the arm and chest at their family home in Loudoun County, Virginia, on July 26. She was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
Elijah Bieniemy, the 27-year-old son of Eric and Mia, was arrested and charged with the shooting the following day.
In August, three weeks after the shooting, Bieniemy returned to practice and told reporters that Mia was on the "road to recovery."
"It's one of the main reasons why I'm back here, because of her recovery," Eric Bieniemy said. "She's truly a soldier. She's a saint and it's been incredible to watch. But I know I was driving her and a bunch of my family members crazy in the house, so she was like, 'You have my blessing to leave.' It was time to get back."
Last month, Elijah Bieniemy was found fit to stand trial after a psychological evaluation. A public defender who represented Elijah earlier in the trial (he now has new representation) wrote in a filing that "the defendant appears to suffer from significant mental health issues."
Eric Bieniemy, a decorated offensive coach, returned to the Chiefs' sideline this season as offensive coordinator, a role he served in from 2018-2022.
He served in various assistant coaching roles for the Washington Commanders, UCLA and Chicago Bears in between stints in Kansas City.
