2026 PGA Tour fall: What players are on the bubble with 4 events left?

Where a player finishes in the FedExCup Fall standings after the RSM Classic decides his 2027 status. Here are the lines that matter:

Anyone outside the top 100 can try to win back a card at Q-School. Past winners and other exempt players keep their cards no matter where they rank. That is why Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau can sit at Nos. 106 and 107 without much worry.

This is the second fall under the Tour's policy of awarding only 100 cards. For about four decades the cutoff sat at 125.
The VidantaWorld Mexico Open this week is the fifth of eight fall events. The World Wide Technology Championship in Los Cabos follows next week, then the Austin Championship, concluding with the RSM Classic at Sea Island on Nov. 22, after which the standing will be final.
Here are some notable players on the various bubbles halfway through the fall:
Billy Horschel, No. 94
Horschel opened the fall exactly on the bubble, sitting at No. 100 when the Tour arrived in Asheville. A T-13 in Utah and a T-21 in Japan lifted him to 90th. He didn't play in Bermuda and dropped four spots, but is in this week's field.
Horschel is an eight-time Tour winner and the 2014 FedExCup champion, but the exemption from those wins runs out with this season. He started 2026 at No. 53 in the world and had fallen more than a hundred places by September. His only top-10 of the year came at the Zurich Classic team event.
VidantaWorld Mexico Open - Rd 1The opening round of the VidantaWorld Mexico Open is underway at Vidanta Vallarta Golf Course in Vallarta, Mexico.Lucas Glover, No. 110
Glover began the fall one spot behind Horschel, the first man out. Six weeks later he is 110th on the list.
Three years ago, Glover won the Wyndham and then the FedEx St. Jude at TPC Southwind in back-to-back weeks. The exemptions from those wins expired this year.
This season he started at No. 64 in the world and earned his way into all eight signature events, then finished inside the top 20 in only one of them. A pair of top-5s in July kept him close, but he has not built on that success.
Glover, chairman of the PGA Tour’s Player Advisory Council, turns 47 next month and is in his 23rd season on the PGA Tour. He is not competing this week.

Joel Dahmen, No. 130
Dahmen is fighting around a different bubble at No. 130, five spots outside conditional PGA Tour status of 125. If Dahmen finishes outside that cutoff, he will be playing the Korn Ferry Tour in 2027.
He knows this scenario well. Two years ago a T-35 at the RSM got him to 124th, one place inside the old 125 cutoff. Last fall the line moved to 100 and he finished 122nd. He played 2026 on conditional status. A former winner in Puntacana, he is in the VidantaWorld field.

Luke Clanton, No. 126
Clanton came to the Tour through the PGA Tour University Accelerated program as one of the Tour's most hyped newcomers. His first full season did not match the buildup. He made nine of 19 cuts with two top-20s, the best a T-5 at the Puerto Rico Open in March, and entered the fall 147th.
His play has improved. After a missed cut in Asheville he closed with a 62 to tie for seventh in Utah, then tied for 11th in Bermuda. He has climbed 21 spots since September and looks to keep improving in Mexico.

Jordan Spieth, No. 55
Looking further up the points list, Spieth is trying to stay inside the top 60 line because players ranked 51-60, called the Aon Next 10, earn spots in the first two signature events of 2027 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational.
Spieth relied on a number of sponsor exemptions in 2025 and 2026 which has drawn scrutiny from a number of players. His most recent win came in April 2022.
His last outing was the Baycurrent Classic earlier in this month, where he placed T-13 after a long break following the 2026 season. He's not in Mexico this week, and has the event in Austin that makes sense for him to be part of next month at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa.

Ben James, No. 63
James finished No. 1 in the 2026 PGA Tour University ranking after a Virginia career with seven wins and 35 top-10s in 46 starts. He turned pro in June and already holds a card through 2027. He is now playing for a place in those first two signature events. He has four top-5s in his first 10 pro starts and is looking for a breakthrough win this week in Mexico.
