OKLAHOMA CITY — In the wake of Oklahoma City Thunder’s Jalen Williams to a season-ending injury, Isaiah Hartenstein sent an emotional tribute. Thunder guard Cason Wallace will miss significant time due to a left shoulder tear, as GM Sam Presti announced in a special press conference ahead of Oklahoma City’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns on Monday.
Hartenstein, wearing Williams’ jersey, discussed he and the Thunder’s approach to Monday’s game after a 125-114 win during his media availability.
“We play for each other every night, especially with what happened to those two; we have a little bit more pride behind it,” Hartenstein said. “They mean so much to us, not just from a player standpoint, but from a human standpoint. So, we just wanna play for them. But also be with them off the court. I think that’s what makes our team so special.”

Isaiah Hartenstein addressed how he purchased Jalen Williams’ Thunder jersey, and the backlash he received from Cason Wallace in jest.
“I got it from the team shop. The funny thing is I got it last year to ear for Dub, and then, I think I got hurt,” Hartenstein said. “So, I couldn’t wear it. Cason texted me when he saw the picture and was like, ‘Oh, so you’re not wearing my jersey?’ And I was like, ‘I already had a Dub jersey.’ So, I might have to find a Cason jersey so he doesn’t get his feelings hurt.”
Hartenstein finished with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists against the Suns. The Thunder will begin a three-game road trip, starting against the Mavericks on Wednesday.
