Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had an unexpected guest Monday night as ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith watched the Philadelphia Eagles matchup from his suite at Lincoln Financial Field.

The NFC East rivals entered Week 7 with matching 2-4 records. Dallas was trying to snap a two-game losing streak, while Philadelphia sought momentum following its disappointing start.

Smith has repeatedly criticized Jones and the Cowboys on ESPN’s First Take, making their shared vantage point an unusual sight during a pivotal divisional contest.

The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov shared a photo Monday on X, formerly Twitter, showing Jones and Smith sitting together as the teams battled.

Their meeting followed Smith’s demand that Jones address Dallas’ struggles before Halloween rather than wait until Thanksgiving. Smith placed responsibility for the franchise’s problems on ownership.

Earlier Monday, Jones offered a friendlier assessment during the Cowboys’ pregame radio show on 105.3 The Fan. He praised Smith and referenced their mutual admiration for former Dallas wide receiver Michael Irvin.

On the field, the Cowboys carried a 28-21 lead early in the fourth quarter after the teams exchanged touchdowns throughout the third. Dallas entered the final period looking to protect its advantage and end its losing streak.

The suite appearance was not their first public meeting at a Cowboys game. Smith previously joined Jones during Dallas’ Monday Night Football matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in 2025. Jones also recently recorded a birthday message for the ESPN personality.

The Cowboys arrived in Philadelphia following consecutive losses to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers. The Eagles started quarterback Tanner McKee after Jalen Hurts suffered season-ending blood clots.

For Jones, the evening combined a high-stakes rivalry game with an unlikely seatmate: one of his franchise’s most vocal critics.
