The injury situations for No. 2 BYU and UCF look like they should be flipped.

Despite a bye last weekend providing extra time to heal, the Knights had 16 names on the Big 12 Conference availability report that dropped Wednesday night. That included five players already designated as out.
The Cougars, coming off a physical battle against Notre Dame, had only three players listed and only one labeled out. That’s star running back LJ Martin, who has not played since Oct. 3 at TCU.
UCF did receive an encouraging sign, though. Quarterback Alonza Barnett III resides in the questionable category. He missed the last four games with a hamstring injury.
Earlier this week, ESPN reported Barnett will skip a fifth straight contest, though Knights offensive coordinator Steve Cooper stated his status was still uncertain. Barnett has been a limited participant in practice.
If he does not suit up, Keyone Jenkins will get the start behind center.
UCF’s defensive captain, linebacker Lewis Carter, remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Kickoff between the Knights and Cougars is set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday. With BYU becoming the highest-ranked program to ever take the field at Acrisure Bounce House, the showdown will air on Fox.
