· Yahoo Sports

LeBron James clearly isn’t bothered by the chatter over his choice to fly between New York and Philadelphia by helicopter. While speaking to the media, the 4x NBA champion dismissed the ongoing conversation with a statement that could quiet the noise. Of course, LeBron has been under fire for the last month after reports confirmed that the 41-year-old would sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.

On October 19, an ESPN reporter asked LeBron about the noise surrounding his decision to travel by helicopter, and the father of three shut the conversation down before it could even start. “Yeah, I’ve done it before,” he said, then called the helicopter “another way of transportation.”

LeBron has been spotted traveling between New York and Philadelphia by helicopter numerous times this season. Earlier this month, Fanatics was reported to be covering the NBA star’s airfare.

“The deal we signed with Fanatics almost three years ago includes access to their corporate aviation,” a LeBron spokesperson told Front Office Sports. “It’s a feature in many of their deals with their largest athletes and we appreciate their partnership as LeBron splits his time between New York and Philadelphia.”

According to a previous report from The Blast, concerned fans slammed LeBron for what they saw as irresponsible travel given the dangers involved.

One user criticized him for “doing too much,” while another called his behavior “slightly ignorant” given Kobe Bryant’s death.

“I know he has very little choice if he’s living in New York and playing in Philly, but still,” the user continued.

NBA star Patrick Beverley also discussed the conversation about LeBron and warned the all-star athlete to avoid upsetting the community.

“LeBron got a helicopter landing in Camden… Camden is not a place where they’re used to helicopters landing… But Bron, be careful, cause Camden isn’t the greatest neighborhood. People gonna start throwing rocks at them motherf–ing helicopters, so be cool out there,” he said.

But it’s not just Philadelphia that LeBron has to worry about, considering “The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Gizelle Bryant shaded the athlete during a “Watch What Happens Live” appearance.

While former ESPN staffer Jemele Hill went to give LeBron his props for having such a lasting career, Bryant shut her down, screaming, “No. Absolutely not.”

After Hill finished, Bryant took another jab at LeBron, adding, “We would like for you to live wherever you play.”

LeBron’s flashy helicopter rides aren’t the only reason people have voiced their frustration with the NBA star. Another report from The Blast noted that the former Cleveland Cavaliers player was being slammed online for partnering with Polymarket, the world’s largest prediction market.

“LeBron has gone too far,” one user wrote. “We know the pernicious effect gambling has on sports. It sullies the game and makes people wonder if what they’re watching is legit. I know he wants to be a billionaire, but lending your name to something that hurts the game you play isn’t smart. Or moral.”

After moving to Philadelphia, LeBron shared details about his latest business venture with Mike’s Red Tacos.

“I love tacos, and I especially love how they bring people together to create traditions and share great moments around the table with family and friends,” he said. “In addition to having an incredible taco, Mike’s Red Tacos brings those same values to life in a fresh, new way for consumers.”

He opened up further about the move on Instagram, pointing to Mike’s Red Taco’s leadership team as the reason for his endorsement.

“With this leadership team, I see a group that is building something authentic with a long-term vision,” he said. “And I wanted to be part of helping bring that experience to more communities.”
