The former first round pick had appeared in five games so far this season with New York, one of which he started. Harris had 31 carries for 99 yards over those five games, as well as one reception for five yards.
This past Sunday, Harris received only four carries during the Giants' 34-27 loss at home to the New Orleans Saints, rushing for two yards.
Following the reported release, Harris will now be looking for his third NFL team in the last two seasons. Harris saw action in three games a year ago with the Los Angeles Chargers prior to suffering a season-ending injury.
Prior to signing with Los Angeles in 2025, Harris spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the first of which he was named to the Pro Bowl.
