During what has become the customary Saturday reporting of fines handed down by the NFL from the previous week of action, James Cook, Bradley Chubb and C.J. Gardner-Johnson were hit for on-field actions during Buffalo’s win in Los Angeles in Week 5.

Bills fines from Rams game:
— Sal Capaccio 🏈 (@SalSports) October 17, 2026
– DE Bradley Chubb $14,329 for taunting.
– RB James Cook $21,167 or use of helmet
– S CJ Gardner-Johnson $11,194 for striking/kicking/kneeing
Rams DE Brandon Fiske $11,941 for a facemask vs Bills
Chubb was apparently fined for his taunting of Alaric Jackson — who hit Chubb postgame and will serve a one-game suspension — on a false start penalty.
While Cook was not penalized for a helmet-to-helmet hit on safety Kamren Kinchens, he was fined for it. And apparently the use-of-helmet flags were relatively common last week:
#Bills RB James Cook was fined $21,167 for use of the helmet on this play. No flag.

In all, six fines across the league for use of the helmet in Week 5. pic.twitter.com/NPQoJEwnqU
I’m not entirely sure what prompted Gardner-Johnson fine, although he did have a sizable hit on a tight end that was flagged against the Rams.
Crazy that facemask calls can draw a fine from the league too, like the one Braden Fiske received on his facemask of Cook.
