The Los Angeles Dodgers were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series, leading to an “a**-kicking” admission by an MLB reporter. Three key offseason questions were posed after the series for Dave Roberts’ team as the offseason officially got underway in Los Angeles.

Following the Dodgers’ Game 4 loss, reporter Katie Woo of The Athletic pinpointed an area where Roberts’ team can get better this offseason and it has to do with getting younger.
“That’s the big question…Is this the end of the Dodgers’ dynasty? Long answer short, the Dodgers are built to last. When you look at their core players, look at their age, this is a lot of guys in their mid-to-late 30s, most of these guys are under contract for next year though, so it’s a question of how do these guys get younger on the margins?

“Right now, you look at who these guys have under contract, they have a top farm system, the dynasty is going to last,” Woo added.
Freddie Freeman (37 years old), Mookie Betts (34), and Blake Snell (33) are a few of the Dodgers’ top players in their 30s as they head toward winter meetings. Snell sent a strong message to Dodgers ace Tarik Skubal after Game 4, asking him to finish the team’s mission of winning a World Series with him along for the ride.
The Dodgers are expected to compete again next season and Roberts’ leadership is a big reason why. He will now sit back and wait for his front office to make additional moves that could be the difference between another World Series win and another early exit in 2027.
