NFL Fans React to Terry Bradshaw’s Contract Extension
Bradshaw revealed in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that he recently signed a multi-year contract extension with Fox Sports, keeping him on the network through its next scheduled Super Bowl broadcast in early 2029.
The agreement keeps him on the program alongside Howie Long and Michael Strahan for at least two more years, taking him to around age 80.
The 78-year-old admitted that the contract process made him uneasy for the first time in his more than 30-year broadcasting career.
“I love my job. This year was the first year that I got nervous,” Bradshaw said. “I wanted to extend my contract. So, I signed through the Super Bowl. Two more years. I’ll be 80.”
Bradshaw also acknowledged that broadcasting, like any other profession, eventually makes room for younger people. Still, he made it clear that he wants to keep doing the job and stay in viewers’ good graces.
“Everybody in any business has to go. The young guys are coming. But I want to be relevant,” he said. “I want to be good. I want to continue on. I want America to [tune in] and watch me. I want them to [like] me.”

A third reaction focused on Bradshaw’s personal desire to stay on the show. The fan wrote, “It’s all about Terry and what HE wants. He’s been terrible for 5 years. Leave.”
The most blunt response was brief, with one X user writing, “Time to retire.”
Fox has other options as it looks to the future, including Tom Brady as its top game analyst alongside Kevin Burkhardt and younger voices such as Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Charles Woodson across its programming.
Bradshaw’s extension keeps a familiar face on “Fox NFL Sunday,” but fan reactions suggest some viewers would rather see the network give younger talent a chance.
