Controversially, Anthony Davis isn't just a non-Bears fan despite being from Chicago. He's a known Packers fan.

The NBA star has supported Green Bay for years, sometimes to the irk of Chicago fans who want Davis to support the city he grew up in. On Sunday, Davis made an Instagram post in full Packers gear, making a jersey challenge to internet personality Dyon Brooks. What it became, however, was an invitation for Bears fans to call him out in the comment section.

Eventually, Davis even seemed to have annoyed Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III, who left a comment on the post before the two athletes traded some jabs.

Here's why Davis and Burden had a back-and-forth exchange in Instagram comments on Sunday night.

Prior to Sunday's rivalry matchup between the Packers and Bears, Davis posted a video to Instagram challenging Brooks to wear a Green Bay jersey if Chicago lost the game, and vice versa.

"I know, I know, how can a guy from Chicago be a Packers fan?" Davis said.

Bears fans flooded the comment section to call out Davis for his Packers fandom. Eventually, a Bears player himself did the same.

Not long after the Packers claimed a 31-7 win, Burden commented on Davis' post with a corn emoji, to which the Wizards star responded: "Heard you ain't wanna play today champ!"

Davis was referring to Packers linebacker Zaire Franklin's comments directed at Burden earlier in the day, telling reporters after the game, "He quit today. He didn't wanna play no more."

Even with Chicago's deflating loss, however, Burden chirped back at Davis to tell him he led the Bears in receiving yards in Week 5, totaling four catches for 47 yards.

"Keep glazing cheese head," Burden wrote at Davis.

The wide receiver then followed up in another comment, telling Davis to "take Chicago out [of your] bio."

The exchange between Davis and Burden seemed to end there, but considering he's a Packers fan, Davis seemed to get the last laugh for now. Green Bay improved to 3-2 this season to tie the Bears and Lions in the NFC North.

Davis, meanwhile, will begin his first official season with the Wizards soon, with Washington's season beginning on Oct. 21 against the Bucks.
