It's only Week 5 of the 2026 NFL season, but already, a couple of teams will be out of action for early-season byes.

The Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs are both off in Week 5. That guarantees the Chiefs will remain undefeated entering Week 6 while the Panthers will hope the Baltimore Ravens can beat the Atlanta Falcons on "Sunday Night Football" to help Carolina stay atop the NFC South.

Their absences, plus the continuation of the NFL's Sunday morning international slate, will limit the league's typical Sunday afternoon slate to just 11 games.

As always, Fox and CBS will split the rights to those 11 Sunday afternoon games. This week, Fox will get the rights to six games while CBS will have five as its disposal.

It will also be Fox's turn to broadcast a game in both the early- and late-afternoon windows. CBS will be limited to showing just one game per region.

Fox's Week 5 game slate will prominently feature an NFC North rivalry between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. Its afternoon window will have a near-national broadcast of the Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers game, a matchup that will determine which squad will maintain early-season control of the NFC West.

Meanwhile, the CBS slate will feature more regionalized coverage. That said, the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts and the Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos games will have the largest audience reach.
