But Clark keeps splitting opinion everywhere she goes. While she’s bringing tons of new eyes to the game, a lot of people just can’t stand how quickly she blew up.

Between the constant media circus, the endorsement deals, and the instant superstar treatment, plenty of fans and traditionalists feel like she hasn’t earned that level of hype over established veterans.

Cari Champions still criticising Caitlin Clark

Cari Champion made her stance on Caitlin Clark crystal clear, pointing straight at her body language on the court. She noted that yelling at refs and snapping at teammates shows a real lack of basic basketball etiquette, calling that kind of behavior a genuine distraction from the actual game.

On the Flagrant and Funny podcast alongside Jemele Hill, she said: “I do know that I have been on the record criticising how Caitlin Clark’s body language is on the court. How Caitlin Clark has these what I think are outbursts where she’s seen either yelling at a coach or yelling at a ref or being dismissive. And to me, there is a certain basketball etiquette that she still lacks.

“And that criticism of how she plays and her demeanor, which I consider a distraction to the game, is different from what I am getting ready to say right now. Because the two can be true. Many things can be true. People hate to say that, but it’s true.”

Toward the end of the season, we saw Caitlin Clark yell at Stephanie White right on the sideline, but you’ve got to consider everything she’s dealing with.

She’s taking constant physical hits, carrying media expectations, and wearing a massive target every single night. When you’re under that kind of non-stop pressure, hitting a boiling point and letting off steam on the court is just human nature.
