⚽GIRLS SOCCER - Division II

Lincoln School 2, Tiverton 2

Tori Murray scored both goals for the Tigers on their home pitch. Lilia Joy made four saves in goal for Tiverton.Norah Brubaker and Quinn Murphy provided the goals for the Lynx. Maggie McDonald assisted on Murphy’s goal. Hanaa Amanullah stopped seven shots in goal for Lincoln School.

⚽GIRLS SOCCER - Division III

Scituate 3, Narragansett 0

Scituate had the game in the opening minutes and that left plenty of time for Alexiana Butera to work.

The sophomore striker provided a hat trick to lead the Spartans to a 3-0 victory over Narragansett at Caito Field. The Spartans (9-0-2) remain unbeaten and are chasing the Division II crown after finishing runner-up in 2023.

Butera delivered a stunning header, off a corner from Katelyn Chatelle, less than two minutes into Thursday’s meeting. She scored again with 11:55 left in the first half as Scituate carried a 2-0 lead into the half.

Butera finished off the three-goal night on the break with 27:07 left in the second half. The Spartans host Westerly on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

⚽BOYS SOCCER - Division II

EWG 2, Pilgrim 2

Exeter-West Greenwich battled Pilgrim to a 2-2 draw in a tight matchup between Division II and Division III foes. The Scarlet Knights struck first when Derik Payette converted an early scoring chance off an assist from Desmond Butler. Payette added his second goal of the match in the second half, this time unassisted, to give EWG another lead.

Pilgrim answered with two goals of its own to earn the tie in a hard-fought contest. (No Pilgrim stats were provided.)

EWG goalkeeper Aidan Rumgay was strong between the posts, making nine saves to help the Scarlet Knights secure the draw.

🏑FIELD HOCKEY - Division I

East Greenwich 10, Lincoln School 0

East Greenwich (Division I) celebrated Senior Night in dominant fashion, rolling to a 10-0 victory over Lincoln School (Division II) at home. All 13 Avengers seniors saw action and rotated throughout the contest, making the win a memorable team effort.

Ava Halvorsen, Emma Pray, Juliette Saccoccio (2), Ava Gemma, Danielle Dronzek, Layla Johnson, Madelyn Fairbanks (2) and Dakota Godek accounted for the scoring. Godek added three assists, while Lilian Grant and Fairbanks each recorded one.

Despite the lopsided score, Trinity-bound Arriana Casey was a standout for Lincoln School, repeatedly attacking the cage and creating offensive opportunities. Senior goalkeeper Emma Guckian stayed sharp for East Greenwich, turning away four shots. Lincoln School earned four penalty corners but was unable to convert.

Barrington 3, La Salle 2

Goals by Abby Griffin, Lucy LoVerme and Shelby Gasbarro did in the Rams in a D-I confrontation with the Eagles. Gasbarro and Emma LoVerme also picked up assists in the win.

La Salle received both of its goals from Ella Hyland, who scored twice on unassisted tallies, but the Rams were unable to complete the comeback as the Eagles secured the win.

🏐GIRLS VOLLEYBALL - Division I

Mt. Hope capitalized on the play of Margaret Thorp (12 kills, 10 digs), Natasha Lightfoot (6 kills, 2 aces) and Gianna Soares (10 digs, 2 assists) and swept past the Crusaders, 25-21, 25-23, 25-16.

For the Crusaders, Brooke Rutherford had 10 assists and Kaitlyn Sheldon recorded 5 aces in the loss.

Toll Gate 3, Pilgrim 0

The Titans rolled to a 3-0 sweep of their in-town rival Patriots, winning by scores of 25-8, 25-9 and 25-8.

MackenzieLong paced the Titans with 13 assists and three aces, while Demi Manzo contributed six aces and three digs. Paige Reilly added four kills and two blocks in the victory.

For Pilgrim, KaelynShea dished out six assists and Bria Rhilinger recorded four kills.

Cumberland 3, Coventry 0

Cumberland swept Coventry, 3-0, in a competitive Division I match Thursday, winning by scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 28-26. The Clippers were powered by Darryl Ashilaka, who delivered a dominant performance with 23 kills and four digs. Ashley Asermely added six kills to help Cumberland secure the straight-set victory.

Coventry battled throughout the match, especially in the opening and closing sets. Mia Saillant filled the stat sheet with 23 assists, 19 digs, four blocks, two aces and a kill, while Kelsey Knutton contributed eight kills, six digs and a block. Payton Baris chipped in six kills and 14 digs for the Oakers.

🏐GIRLS VOLLEYBALL - Division II

Johnston 3, EWG 2

Strong showings by Marissa Morsilli (15 kills, 4 blocks, 3 aces), Milani Abate (9 aces, 7 kills) and Larissa Alvargena Pesoa (15 digs, 4 aces) help the Panthers edged the Scarlet Knights ( in what was a very competitive match (22-25, 25-15, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13). Johnston improves to 9-0-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of Cranston East.

Despite the loss, EWG also had strong outings from three players of their own as Blakely Macera had 10 kills and 5 blocks, Maddie Mallard recorded 39 assists, 4 kills, 3 aces and 10 digs and Anna McCoombs was good for 27 digs, 5 aces and 3 kills in the loss. They slipped to 5-5-0 on the season.

Middletown 3, Central Falls 1

Middletown earned a 3-1 victory over Central Falls on Thursday, taking the match by scores of 25-20, 24-26, 25-23 and 25-22. The Islanders bounced back after dropping a tightly contested second set and closed out the final two sets to secure the win.

Francesca Vidotto paced Middletown with eight kills, four aces and five digs, while Athalia Newby added six kills and 13 digs. Alieah Castaneda contributed five aces and four digs in the winning effort.

Central Falls was led by Arielly De Andrade, who recorded 19 kills and 12 digs, while Jhana Perez finished with 22 assists and four kills in a strong all-around performance for the Warriors.
