Eagles unlikely to have top WR vs. Rams due to hamstring injury

The Los Angeles Rams are set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend, and achieving victory is the only thing on their mind. After losing to the Eagles four times over the last three seasons, including a playoff loss that ended their 2024 season and a blocked kick on the final play from scrimmage last year, Los Angeles could be on the verge of its best shot at a win over Philadelphia.

The Eagles are reeling after their blowout loss to the Chicago Bears and haven't looked the same offensively since trading away A.J. Brown. Now, ESPN's Tim McManus is reporting that star receiver DeVonta Smith is unlikely to play, as well, leaving Philadelphia without its top pass catcher.
There is not much optimism Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith will play Sunday against the Rams, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo.

Smith has been sidelined with a hamstring injury this week and the expectation is he won’t be able to go Sunday.
If Smith cannot go, the Eagles will look to Dontayvion Wicks and rookie Makai Lemon to pick up the slack. Last week, quarterback Jalen Hurts was inefficient in the air, going 16-for-25 passing for 153 yards and one touchdown. Smith accounted for six receptions and 65 yards.
The Super Bowl champion has 19 receptions for 235 yards and one touchdown on the season so far. Smith's likely absence comes as cornerback Jaylen Watson is expected to miss the contest for the Rams.
